Illustration of Evidence-Oriented Programming

Since 2024, we initiated discussions that led to the establishment of a new research software initiative.

We focus on how research software can be appropriately disclosed in scientific activities, particularly during the peer review process.

Four stakeholder groups are involved: authors, reviewers, editors, and external actors (e.g., regulatory agencies and funding bodies).

Recent developments indicate that these stakeholders often hold divergent expectations regarding research software disclosure.

In this initiative, we acknowledge the validity of these expectations and work to build constructive consensus among stakeholders.

We define the research software development approach that supports this alignment as Evidence-Oriented Programming.
